Prana Urban Monastery
The monastery has a private, 3 bedroom basement suite available to rent for a couple who would like to spend time in the environment of spiritual discipline. The rent for the suite is $1100 per month, including utilities. In the Monastery itself, we have openings for residencies through the winter. Our monthly resident fee is $500 and $300 for a weekly retreat.

Our newest karma project
Prana is now in the position of beginning to focus more of our efforts into charitable karma projects. The first one of these that is manifesting itself is through The Eskemkwu Aboriginal Healing and Wellness Centre in North Vancouver. In the new year we are going to provide yoga classes and monthly wellness workshops to First Nations people living on The Mission Reserve. We are also planning to bring yoga classes twice a week into a nearby high school and are hoping to discover and inspire two people from this community whom we can sponsor for our YTC program. It is through your dedicated efforts that we can help to bring these projects into the light.

shakti leaves for Thailand
As it is now January, the time has come for our Teacher Training in Thailand. Once again shakti will be on hiatus from teaching at the studio but would like to askl all of you to continue the practice for the purpose of elevating the collective consciousness for the well being of all. Like the light of a candle's flame in a dark room, so too is the spiritual practice of the individual.

New meditation teacher at the Prana Urban Monastery
We are excited to announce that we will have a new teacher at The Monastery on beginning on January 9th. A well known teacher and author of the widely regarded book "Freeing The Buddha," Brian Ruhe will be teaching out at The Monastery on Tuesdays at 7:30 pm. Helping to spread a new consciousness through out the city, The Monastery is funded and supported entirely through donations, so why not drop by and enjoy some respite from the mind. Please call to make an appointment for sittings or for more information.

Restorative Yoga
Restorative yoga is a healing yoga. Incorporating props, this class provides an opportunity to experience deep release through extended, fully supported, holds of each posture. By allowing the body to open, at its own pace with out expending energy, restorative poses become restful and rejuvenating. Each posture will allow you to let go completely, whilst storing and replenishing energy on a cellular level. Suitable for everyone, this class is incredibly beneficial for: anyone who may feel weak and tired all the time; those who may have injuries, disease or physical limitations; or anyone wanting to just slow down, feel supported, relaxed and energized. Join Sadie every Wednesday at 3:30 for this beautiful experience.
