Summer 7:00 am classes:

As the summer months approach and the air temperature begins to rise, why not rejuvenate and awaken your mind, body and spirit a little earlier? Traditionally yoga is practiced very early in the morning, as a system of flowing through postures to relieve the tension of the day before and prepare the mind and body for the day ahead. We are happy to announce that, with your support, our 7:00 am classes will continue through the spring and summer. Set your alarm a little early and join our beautiful array of Prana early morning teachers, you will be amazed at the benefit to your day.

Swami Vivekananda Saraswati: Guest TantraYoga master

We are happy to announce that Swami Vivekananda will be a guest teacher in our College this fall. Swami Vivekananda is the brilliant exponent of a unique and modern trend of thinking in Yoga. Educated as an electrical engineer, he is a passionate and dedicated teacher of the true, ancient lines of Indian and Tibetan Yoga, rapidly becoming lost in today's "spiritual marketplace."

Although he does not deviate in spirit from the traditional teachings of ancient masters, he has found the resources to present spirituality not as something dogmatic and dead, but as a living science, based on common sense and joy, which at the same time fulfills the fundamental quest of man. Swami will be teaching a variety of topics, open to all, which include (visit our workshops page for descriptions, dates and prices). Workshops are Tantra 1, Tantra 2 Metaphysical Workshop, Meditation and Esoteric Teachings, Parapsychology 1, The Art of Dying: Bardo Thodol Rites and Training.

Yoga Nidra classes with Daniel: June 10th and June 24th

If you haven't had the pleasure of experiencing Daniel's Yoga Nidra class, we are happy to announce the addition of two more for June! Yoga Nidra means Yogic sleep. This part of the Tantric Yoga tradition uses a specific practice, which induces extraordinarily deep relaxation. Far more than just relaxation technology, it is a way to penetrate the veil which separates the conscious and subconscious minds. An active guided meditation using technology only recently confirmed by neuro-scientific research, it is used to manifest any desired condition and especially higher intentions in ones existence. In the tradition on the yogic practice yoga nidra is also used by Yogis to purify the Samskaras, the deep impressions that are the driving force behind Karma. Join Daniel at The Centre on Sunday June 10th and Sunday June 24th at 5:00pm. Cost is just $5!

Upcoming Movies:

Movie night continues through June; see below for the list of movie dates, times and descriptions.

June 3rd: Cracking the Code of Life (120 minutes)

Does it amaze you that yeast is your very close relative? That you possess roughly the same number of genes as a mouse? That you are 99.9% genetically identical to every other human? ABC Nightline correspondent Robert Krulwich lends a lighthearted touch to genetic science in this provocative two-hour NOVA special that takes you inside the amazing, complex and contentious race to decode the human genome.

June 10th: The Yogis of Tibet (77 Minutes)

The yogis in this film took unprecedented risks. Once vowed to extreme secrecy to maintain the purity of their practices, they agreed to these unique interviews and rare demonstrations to help preserve for posterity their vanishing culture. This beautiful film had been described as: Spectacular yogic exercise footage, never before seen and not likely to be seen elsewhere again. As close to the ways of mystical Tibetan yogis anyone can get.

June 17th: Andy Goldsworthy Rivers and Tides (90 Minutes)

The theatrical phenomenon Rivers and Tides depicts the magical relationship between art and nature, while painting a visually intoxicating portrait of famed artist Andy Goldsworthy. Gorgeously shot and masterfully edited the film follows the bohemian free spirit Goldsworthy all over the world as he demonstrates and opens up about his unique creative process. From his icicle sculptures to his interlocking leaf chains and multicolored pools of flowers, Goldsworthy's painstakingly intricate masterpieces are made entirely of materials founding Mother Nature- who threatens and often succeeds in destroying his art, sometimes even before it is finished.

June 24th: No Movie for this Date
