The transition of Prana Yoga Centre

I hope that all is well and that your practice continues to flourish. At this time, I would like to inform you that shakti and Daniel have decided to withdraw from their management role of Prana Yoga Centre in Yaletown, so that they can continue to focus their time on the Prana Teacher Training College as well as a number of other projects.

With the intention to pass on the center and its spirit to a capable individual, shakti & Daniel are offering to pass it on to a Prana graduate who would like to take over and continue to serve others in yoga, in this beautiful space that has become a sanctuary to hundreds of yogis and yoginis since it first opened its doors in 1997. Classes will continue to run as scheduled, in fact the teacher training will be conducted at a different location as of next spring which will free up more time for the running of yoga classes at the centre during the day.

It is with much appreciation and love for all that have supported and contributed their wonderful light and energy to Prana, that shakti and Daniel embrace this part of the journey in the constant change and growth cycle of life. We will keep you updated on the new and exciting developments.

With love and appreciation,

Prana

Street Heat: Pilot Project & November Volunteer Dates!

Street Heat is a volunteer-based community organization whose volunteers collect and distribute all types of warm items such as blankets, socks, sweaters, jackets, sandwiches and rain ponchos to the homeless.

October 19th was the First Friday for Street Heat distribution. There were over 15 volunteers in five different locations who were met with gratitude, blessings, and most of all, warm hearts. Check out the Street Heat blog where you can read about some of the volunteers' experiences!

What can I do to help?

The homeless expressed their need for warm wool socks and rain gear to help keep them dry. Please bring socks or other warm items to Prana Yoga Centre (in bags) 30 minutes before any scheduled class. We are also accepting donations to buy rain ponchos ($1 buys one poncho and a whole lot of comfort and relief).

I would like to help distribute!

Please see our website at www.streetheatproject.org for upcoming distribution dates and call 604.676.8812 for further details.

Goodbye: Ana Leaving Prana

Ana's letter to students:

My dear students and Prana family,

I want to thank you for making one of my dreams comes true. Becoming a yoga teacher and being immersed in this mindful and full of love atmosphere that surrounds Prana has been an amazing journey.

It has been a very special 5 years of my life in which I met the most amazing people and lived touching experiences in every class I taught.

I'm grateful to all my students for being my most profound teacher. I learned about grace, patience and the art of transformation through each of you.

It is time to extend my teaching and my love for Yoga in another country. I have this profound wish to import this precious gift of yoga to Mexico, my home.

I will miss you and this City a great deal, but I'm also extremely happy and excited with the adventure that lies ahead. Part of life is movement and change.

The time has come to stir the pot, move on and start collecting new experiences.

My plans for the near future are to continue with yoga, possibly open my own studio and eventually organize retreats.

I wish all of you to keep growing in your practice and remember, "Reeeeelax".

Love Ana

P.S. Keep in touch... if you need anything please contact the Prana office for my e-mail
