We offer the following classes, workshops and programs.
Hatha Yoga
(Drop-in only: class details here) Hatha Yoga is a great way to safely learn yoga postures and breath. This class is not just for beginners. The classes will provide a blend of simple postures with challenging alternatives and the traditional prana flow style which combines breath and movement.
ZenTalk / Satsang
(Drop-in: event details here) A free discourse on life and spirituality. shakti uses a casual discussion forum in order to bring out some of the questions that naturally arise from our practice and explore their context and some of the unconscious assumptions behind them. Warning: Answers will not be served and this practice may be hazardous to your ego! Admission is free and everyone is welcome at this weekly talk.
Pranayama
(Workshop only: class details here) Pranayama is highly intense breath-work. Classes are suitable for people who are in good health (no high blood pressure, heart conditions, etc.) This focuses on gently introducing the student to breath-control and slowly building the body's capacity to hold prana (energy). Students who are comfortable with their asana (posture) practice are welcome to attend and begin this journey.

Hatha Intermediate
(Not currently offered) Building on the postures used in the Hatha Yoga class, Hatha Intermediate will deepen your exploration of yoga. Students will be expected to know all the basic postures and especially ujjayi breath. From here, each student will be guided to progressively more challenging levels within his/her practice.
Candlelight / Twilight Yoga
(Not currently offered) This room creates a special mood. Soft flickering candles invite you into yoga. When the music is added and the teacher guides you through the postures, you will become very receptive, open, and calm. A wonderful way to end your day.
Community Class
(Not currently offered) An all-levels Hatha Yoga class offered for a $3 donation. No pass required.
Zen Meditation

That which yoga does for your body and health, Zen meditation will do for your mind and spirit. Build your mental muscles and learn how to focus, stay present in the face of all life's drama, and see the world as it truly is. Be warned though... Zen is not for everyone and is a very challenging practice.
